    Description


    The Senior Accountant will be a key player on QPS' growing Accounting/Finance team, particularly in relation to period-end close processes, ad hoc projects and partnership with corporate, branch and regional personnel.

    Responsibilities include:
    Complete, analyze and distribute assigned weekly and monthly reporting.
    Support or lead a variety of projects, ad hoc requests and research.

    Manage portions of the balance sheet, including:
    capitalization and depreciation of assets in Sage software
    high volume of prepaid expenses
    Accurately calculate, support and post month-end journal entries.
    Ensure that assigned accounting responsibilities are GAAP compliant.
    Reconcile balance sheet accounts completely and timely.
    Perform weekly integrations of invoice data from system of record to financial system.
    Provide supporting documents for annual audit and tax package preparation.
    Support administration of company credit card and expense report processes.
    Collaborate with and provide guidance to other Accounting team members.
    Propose and implement changes to automate processes and create efficiencies.
    Act as backup for specified responsibilities of team members.
    Other duties as assigned

    Requirements include:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    3+ years of related experience
    Accuracy and attention to detail
    Strong aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking
    Competence to manage and meet deadlines
    Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, strong experience in Excel (LOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas)
    Able to work independently and demonstrate knowledge of GAAP
