    Opportunity:

    Job Details:


    • Work in a 16-bed cardiovascular operating room with patient ratios of 1:1

    • Handle average of 35-50 cases per day with expectation for turnovers less than 20 minutes

    • Both scrub and circulating experience preferred

    • Work with specialized equipment including 3 DaVinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation

    • Service lines include cardiac/PV, neuro, ortho (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplants

    • On-call schedule includes up to 2 overnight shifts per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract

    • Weekend call runs from Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM

    • Scrubs provided

    • Must float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran

    • Minimum 24 months current/recent operating room experience required

    • Strong proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures required

    • Basic general surgery circulating experience required

    • Scrub experience including open heart scrubbing required

    • EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required

    • Trauma Level I experience highly preferred

    • Must have completed a travel assignment within previous 12 months

    • BLS (AHA) certification required

    • Iowa nursing license required

    Facility:

    This major medical center operates as a Level 1 trauma center with comprehensive surgical services across multiple specialties. The facility features 16 operating rooms running 12-14 routinely, with state-of-the-art technology including robotic surgery capabilities and advanced navigation systems. The organization provides high-volume cardiac, vascular, neurological, and trauma services while maintaining space for emergency trauma cases as part of their Level 1 designation.
