    Default job background
    Description
    The Company

Topography is a new hospitality company that will develop, own, and manage a collection of luxurious and sustainable hotels in areas of natural beauty.

Key aspects of Topography's model include:
Beautiful country escapes designed by leading architects and designers
    Luxurious, comfortable, and cozy accommodations

    Full-service wellness programs
Wide range of activities offered onsite and nearby
Strong connections to the local community and culture
Ideal settings for family, friends, and special events
Topography is led by its founder and
    CEO, Liam Krehbiel.

Liam started Topography because he wanted to create a better experience for people who desire a luxurious and accessible country escape.

In addition to leading Topography, Liam is the co-owner of Ballyfin, a family-owned, award-winning hotel in Ireland that was founded by his father, Fred Krehbiel.

Shaun and Beverley Matthews joined Topography in 2022 and serve as executive directors.

Shaun and Beverley have an extensive track record of developing, managing, and advising some of the most extraordinary hotels in the world, including Necker Island (Caribbean), Twin Farms (Vermont), Aman Resorts (Utah, Wyoming, and Caribbean) and Ballyfin.

Topography is currently pursuing four concepts in the United States and Europe, with a plan to open all four by 2028.

As Topography's first CFO, you will have a unique opportunity to help shape the company, both within the finance function and across the organization.

Additionally, this is a compelling opportunity for someone interested in challenging and elevating the hospitality industry. That said, this is a demanding role. Topography is a young company with a lean team. And yet, the team is proud of the fact that it has high standards and ambitious targets. You should expect to roll up your sleeves and work hard.

Also, you will be building lots of things for the first time in areas where you may or may not have a lot of previous experience.

This will require you to be resourceful, creative, and persistent. Finally, this role comes with an enormous amount of responsibility. Our executive team, investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders are relying on you to deliver. If that's exciting to you, great If not, then this won't be a good fit.
The CFO will serve as a business partner to the
CEO and the executive team. The CFO will be responsible for long-range planning, FP&A, capital deployment, investor relations, treasury, tax, audit, and internal controls. Additionally, the CFO works with the executive team on exploring new business opportunities and overseeing firmwide matters.

Budgeting, cash flow management, and reporting: Oversee organizational budgeting, accounting, and cash management to ensure accurate reporting, interpretation, and analysis of financial results in conjunction with forecasts and long-range goals.

Oversee the cash flow position of the organization, understand the sources and uses of cash, and ensure proper controls to safeguard cash.

    Management:
Hire, coach, and manage a small team of professionals. Within six months, hire an accounting professional to handle day-to-day accounting and reporting, bill-pay, and cash flow management. Additional hires reporting to the CFO will be based on future needs.

    Investor relations:
Ensure Topography has the funding required to fuel its growth and execute its development projects. Serve as the primary point of contact with lenders and investors. Develop materials and analyses as needed. Work with the
    CEO to manage key relationships.

    Compliance:

Prepare and issue funding construction requisitions for all real estate development projects in construction.

Ensure that equity draws, project cost reports, and other specialized project reporting for the
CEO, investors, and government agencies are completed accurately and timely.

    Organizational Leadership
Serve on Topography's executive team along with the
CEO, executive directors, and head of development.
