- Manage operations, allocate budgets, and provide guidance to Financial Aid Department staff.
- Oversee financial aid program administration, compliance, and reporting.
- Address concerns from students, parents, and administrators regarding financial aid.
- Develop policies supporting University's mission while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Lead, train, and develop financial aid staff.
- Implement strategies to optimize student enrollment and retention through financial aid.
- Manage internal and external audits related to financial aid.
- Create communication plans for students and utilize technology efficiently in financial aid processes.
- Present financial aid education sessions on campus.
- Participate in University committees and maintain knowledge of relevant databases and systems.
- Attend professional development activities to stay updated with industry trends.
- Ensure staff have clear direction and necessary resources for their roles.
- Enhance student engagement through strategic communication approaches.
- Engage in University activities supporting its mission and initiatives.
- Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as required.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrate a focus on student needs and inclusivity.
- Deliver services in a customer-focused manner reflecting positively on the University.
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of financial aid experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data management.
- Good standing with personal Title IV loans.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.
- Commitment to student success and quality service delivery.
- Effective relationship-building and supervisory skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and accounting abilities.
- Experience in financial aid administration in higher education.
- Professionalism in appearance, demeanor, and knowledge sharing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Experience at a Director/Assistant Director level.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague.

Job Summary: Director of Financial Aid
