- Prepares and performs ultrasound examinations on patients. Collaborates with physicians on examinations.
- Essential: walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; reaching above and at shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object.
- Continuous: sitting, reaching below shoulder level.
- Frequent: standing, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds.
- Occasional: sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.
- Operates ultrasound equipment and computer.
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Must be able to adjust schedule for "oncall" coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two (2) years supervised work/training in diagnostic ultrasound.
- Registered by ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in Abdomen and OB/GYN sonography. If only registered in one (1) certification upon hire, must obtain the other certification within twentyfour (24) months of entrance into the position.
- Current BLS/HCP certification.
- Prior recent experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer in acute health care facility preferred.
