    Overview


    Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking Senior Software Developers to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).


    The Senior Software Developer/Application Administrator develops, designs and/or modifies operating facility web-based applications and related software applications; is involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards; evaluates interface between operational requirements, hardware and software, and characteristics of overall system; documents testing and maintenance of system corrections; designs and maintains web based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface to meet the specific software needs of users; evaluates and implements COTS products to meet customer requirements.

    Responsibilities


    Generates, revises, updates, compiles, debugs and writes scientific, or software computer programs by applying complete understanding and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and technologies and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.

    Develops flow charts and diagrams outlining process steps in operation; develops and revises program code.

    Prepares documentation of program development, modifications to code and operating instructions.

    Conducts program tests and may be required to analyze system capabilities to resolve input/output problems.

    Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies applications software.

    Plans system and development deployment

    Defines how organization meets software compliance standards

    Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.

    Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.

    Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as C#, , XML, HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, etc.

    Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.

    Designs web based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface to meet the specific needs of users.


    Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

    May design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.

    May have subcontractor management responsibility.

    Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.

    May create standards and/or perform modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.

    Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.


    Contributes to completion specific projects where erroneous decisions may result in serious project delays and considerable expenditure of resources to rectify.

    Works frequently across organization and with customers on difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

    Understand behavior of select COTS products and interact with users, vendor support, and management as needed.

    Configure and customize, participate in security baselining and testing or organic and third-party software.

    Defines standards for organization to comply with industry (IEEE) guidance.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    • High school diploma with relevant practical experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with practical work experience

    Experience with analyzing business processes with customers and documenting results

    Experience as a Maximo administrator or a SharePoint developer

    Experience with debugging and analyzing legacy or new applications

    Experience with automated testing

    Experience with data analytics using Microsoft Power BI or other similar product


    Recognizes the operational Support Systems typically include facility control room Electronic Status Boards (ESB), Electronic Operator Rounds (EOR) and Limited Condition of Operations (LCO) tracking systems.

    Familiar with the facility regulatory operating basis and other facility control systems.

    Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract.

    Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor.

    The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.
