    Job Description
    Our client, a national build-to-suit development firm with expertise across multiple verticals including single-tenant net leased (STNL), and specialized healthcare & veterinary facilities seeks an ambitious Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their collaborative team in based out of Chicago.

    Our client is experiencing tremendous deal-flow, and looking for a CFO with experience having created, managed, or run a fund-driven platform as they look to raise a small fund in 2024. The firm has a strong existing investor network of family offices, PE firms, and institutions, and hopes to find a CFO familiar with fund set-up, compliance, and ongoing administration.

    The CFO will work closely with the firm's CEO & Chairman, and will build and grow the organizational structure and networks needed to execute the Company's business plan and ensure employees and service providers are all rowing in the same direction.

    A day in the life of the CFO includes, but is not limited to:
    • Acquisitions: assisting with project or portfolio underwriting, PSA negotiation, due diligence and execution
    • Fund Formation & Administration: collaborating with legal and financial advisors on the initial set-up, ongoing compliance, and administration of the firm's first and subsequent funds
    • Capital: assisting with raising debt and equity funding, negotiate loan terms, review loan and investor documents, prepare lender and investor decks, and investor reporting and relations
    • Finance: forecasting, budgeting, tax strategy, accounting, A/P, payroll, insurance, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, cash and credit management, internal controls
    • Analytics: recommending and implementing data-driven business intelligence tools, platforms, and processes to maintain a competitive edge
    • Legal: working with outside legal and financial advisors regarding contracts, employment, permitting and licensing, investor and lender documents, regulatory compliance, tax law, etc.
    Requirements

    Our ideal CFO possesses the following characteristics & skills:
    • 5-10+ years of operational oversight for a private equity fund, REIT, or other fund-driven platform as a Controller, CFO or equivalent with full P&L responsibility
    • 5 years of experience scaling, leading and managing a rapidly growing organization
    • Proficiency in using Excel and CRE-specific platforms, accounting, and reporting software
    • Bachelor's degree, and preferably a master's degree in real estate development, engineering, economics, accounting, finance, business or a related field
