    Are you customer service focused and have a solid, proven understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware? Are you experienced in implementation, administration, and troubleshooting network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers? Do you have a deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocol? We are looking for you

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

    • Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.

    • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.

    • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.

    • Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.

    • Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.

    • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.

    • Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.

    • Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.

    • Coordinating computer network access and use.

    • Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.

    • Report network status to key stakeholders

    • Performing network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

    • Providing end users with network technical support

    • Performing other duties/projects, as assigned

    • Serving as after-hours, on-call technical support, as assigned

    • Up to 50 % travel may be required throughout the DMV region. Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation

    • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware

    • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions

    • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including
    wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers

    • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols

    • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems

    • Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection

    • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resource

    • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization

    • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment

    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Dependable and flexible when necessary

    • Network security experience

    • LAN and WAN experience

    Certifications and Licenses:

    • Desired Skills (helpful, but not required): Sonicwall Firewalls; HP/Cisco Switching; Dell AppAssure/Veeam Backup; VoIP Solutions

    • Certifications: (helpful, but not required) CCNA. CCNP, Network+, Security+, ITIL

    Education and/or Experience:
    Customer service aptitude is a must.

    Proven interest and aptitude in computer technology is a must;

    5 to 7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; college degree in relevant field helpful, but not required.

    Computer Skills:
    You are knowledgeable in Database software; Design software; Development software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019, Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies; and storage (SAN/NAS/DAS) and server backup technologies.
