    2nd Shift Position
    2:00 PM - 11:00 PM Monday - Friday

    ** SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL - $2.00 / hr **
    (Added to hourly rate upon hire)

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Electroswitch Machine Shop is currently seeking a General Machine Set Up Operator for the second shift. This position will be responsible to set up and operate punch press machines, broaches and/or various drilling and tapping fixtures for entry level machine operators and conduct first piece inspection.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Prepare, set up, adjust and operate punch presses, broaches and/or various drill and tapping machines for other employees to meet product specifications.
    • Run and inspect low quantity orders.
    • Instruct other operators in the operation of presses and broaches and/or drill and tapping machines.
    • Perform first piece inspection of jobs by using verniers, micrometers, indicators, comparator and blue prints.
    • Conduct in process checks to insure conformity to specifications, using SPC Controls.
    • Identify dies and fixtures requiring repair and change over for varied job requirements and bring to the Supervisor for said work.
    • Empty scrap into designated receptacles.
    • Perform daily and weekly maintenance of machines.
    • Ensure good quality and a clean and safe work area at all times.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Train new personnel in all phases of machine operations.
    • Assist with the upkeep of the area.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    • This position requires a level of knowledge that is usually associated with a High school diploma with basic math skills and one to three years of press, broach machine, drill presses, tapping machines and/or machining operation experience.
