    Job Summary:


    The role of the Coding and Reimbursement Lead is to review billing issues and charge corrections for accuracy and adherence to billing and coding guidelines and for edit opportunities.

    Works with front end staff as well as back end staff to educate them on reimbursement opportunities. Analyzes and makes recommendations to staff for more efficient follow-up workflow from both a business and clinical perspective. Reviews denials and appeals; contacts payers for payment and discusses/identifies trends. Develops training documents for the IRU staff in coordination with the IRU manager. Trains employees and serves as a daily resource for questions and issues. Works with the Departmental Liaison Services department and Revenue Cycle Management in facilitating payment, collections and follow-up issues.


    Required Skills:
    High School Diploma or equivalent - Required.

    CPC, CCS-P or RHIT Coding Certification - Required.

    5-7 years' experience in the medical field required, preferably in a multi-specialty practice in a clinical or coding setting.

    Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly- Preferred.

    Previous experience in a billing, accounts receivable or claims department are strongly - Preferred.
