- Responsible for the overall technical operations of the day shift including Core Lab and Microbiology areas.
- Orientate, evaluate, and document competency of testing personnel.
- Establish, maintain, and revise departmental policies and procedures.
- Review patient test results and quality control outcomes.
- Coordinate the laboratory Quality Improvement Program.
- Collect data for monitoring high-volume processes prone to error.
- Summarize and graph data for reports.
- Maintain departmental expenses and productivity.
- Prepare employee schedules, approve timesheets, and monitor PTO.
- Train and update team on new policies and procedures.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
- Bachelor's in Chemical, Biological, Medical Technology, or Physical Science required.
- One year of laboratory training from an accredited program if B.S. is not in Medical Technology.
- Four years of laboratory testing in a high complexity environment required.
- Six years of laboratory testing in a high complexity environment preferred.
- Two years of experience in developing and coordinating a Quality Improvement Program preferred.
- Effective communication, attention to detail, and quality work.
- Handle difficult situations professionally.
- Establish positive relationships with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and tools.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Proficient in federal and state regulations.
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
