    Position SummaryThis role requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.

    This individual must be able to communicate effectively and understands the need to work in an integrated manner with other members of the department in furtherance of goals, objectives, and knowledge.*This position must report to Tri Star office(s) Monday-Friday with no regular remote or hybrid work allowed.

    Please do not apply if you cannot meet this qualification*J ob Essentials, Responsibilities, DutiesManage and oversee tax controversies, tax appeals, and tax litigation.

    Assist with IRS appeals and examinations.
    Act as the lead company representative for meetings with the IRS and other tax jurisdictions.
    Work directly with the Tax Team and provide input on tax planning and financial reporting.
    Prepare and present on various tax issues to tax authorities.
    Maintain and respond to Information Document Requests, Notices of Proposed Adjustments.
    Advise internal team on best business practices, in accordance with the IRS.Track and monitor the status of tax controversies.
    Conduct tax due diligence, including review target tax returns, tax inquiries, and preparation of tax diligence reports.
    Advocate for clients and businesses in tax controversies including multistate apportionment, property taxes, and federal corporate income tax.
    Research and consult leadership and clients on various tax matters.
    Make tax recommendations to clients and leadership that are forward-thinking, innovative, and compliant.

    Assist the review, oversight, and preparation of complex income tax returns including, but not limited to, Corporations, Partnerships, and Individual returns.

    Ensure compliance during planning and execution of international tax matters including waivers and tax returns.
    Review and oversight over the required estimated tax payments.
    Ensure maintenance, and adherence to financial and tax reporting policies and procedures.

    Preparation and final review of tax correspondence and facilitation and oversight of tax auditsReview and Oversight of tax preparation work papers and investment reconciliation.

    Reports to CEO and/or Managing Tax Director.

    Specific Job Knowledge, skills, and AbilitiesWide range of experience with various types of tax returns, in addition to review of financial statements.

    Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management skillsProficient use of QuickBooks, Excel, and other tax software and technology.

    Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.

    QualificationsBS in Business, specifically in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with strong academic record.7-10+ years or experience in a Tax practice and 5 years of Controversy experience.

    Active CPA LicenseJuris Doctor, LLM, PreferredExperience within a Business Management Firm, Public Accounting Firm, and/or the Entertainment industry where there would be a good transferability of skills.
