    General Summary:


    The Assistant Branch Manager plays a pivotal role in assisting the Senior Multi-Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficient service delivery, fostering a customer-centric environment, and driving business growth.

    This role will maximize team performance in sales and service to current and prospective clients and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

    In addition, this role will be responsible for providing guidance and coaching to branch staff on banking products, services, policies, and procedures.


    Primary Responsibilities:


    • Support the Senior Multi-Branch Manager in directing the performance of the branch, including achieving sales goals, managing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Serves as backup to the Senior Multi-Branch Manager in their absence, coordinating daily branch activities that include operations and sales initiatives.
    • Assist in managing and motivating branch staff to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve performance goals. Provides ongoing feedback and recognition of branch staff, as appropriate.
    • Provide guidance and coaching to branch staff on banking products, services, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate information is provided to customers.
    • Provides leadership and direct supervision to the Senior Universal Banker.
    • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and maintain a secure operating environment. Partner with Senior Universal Banker to ensure operational effectiveness of the branch, including branch cash audits and quarterly audit items.
    • Collaborate with Senior Multi-Branch Manager and Senior Universal Banker in the recruitment process, training new team members, conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, recognition, identifying training and development needs, and areas of improvement for branch staff, as appropriate.
    • Works with the Senior Multi-Branch Manager to develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and expand customer relationships. Assists in the implementation of marketing campaigns and promotional activities to drive branch sales and revenue growth.
    • Administers effective branch scheduling to assure the highest level of service.
    • Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Bank's products and services along with related features and benefits.
    • Build brand awareness by providing exquisite and responsive customer service.
    • Handle customer account maintenance and other servicing issues. Answers general questions and basic research requests.
    • Personally refers and sells deposit and loan products appropriate to the customer's needs.
    • Maintains an active prospect list and initiates outreach contact to build relationships.
    • Identifies referral opportunities for mortgages, investment management, merchant cards, small business credits, and credit card products.
    • Initiates actions to expand current client relationships and proactively develops new relationships; meets personal and branch goals.
    • Handles escalated customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving for swift resolution and customer satisfaction.
    • May be required to assist staffing needs in market buddy branch.
    • Contributes to the team effort by performing other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


    • High School diploma required; college-level courses, banking courses (ABA) preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
    • Extensive banking experience in relationship management and the ability to analyze customer needs and match appropriate products.
    • Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and operational procedures.
    • Ability to effectively motivate, coach, and develop associates by transferring accumulated banking knowledge and expertise to branch team.
    • Consumer lending experience required and fundamental knowledge of building small business relationships.
    • Exceptional customer service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining customer relationships.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth and process improvement.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) as well as core operating systems.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as presentation skills.
    • Must be able to establish rapport when handling customers in person or on the phone.
    • Strong ability to apply independent judgment and discretion.
    • Strong attention to detail is a must.
    • Requires a high level of tact and integrity due to the regular exposure to confidential data.
    • Must have excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
    • Ability to work individually as well as a member of a team.
    • Responsible for understanding the bank's compliance policies as it relates to the specific individual job duties and following the provisions of such policies, specifically understanding that any violation of such policies must be reported to the Director of Regulatory Services immediately.
