    Summary



    This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS announcement for a Registered Nurse. The position is located with the Community Living Center, VA Black Hills HCS, Fort Meade, SD.

    The Community Living Center (CLC) Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Provides care to residents with behaviors and/or frequent cognitive changes.
    • Provides care for residents with deteriorating physical status thus requiring increased assistance from staff.
    • Provides care to prevent and manage skin integrity issues.
    • Performs resident-centered care.
    • Develops the initial nursing plan of care and updates the plan using realistic, measurable health goals and discharge planning.
    • Identifies each patient's individual needs
    • Completes unit specific documentation.
    • Safely administers medications
    Work Schedule: 80 hours biweekly; Rotating shifts to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. 8 or 12 hour-shifts available.

    Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

    Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

    Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

    Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

    Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

    Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
