- Performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, and utilizing equipment in accordance with department protocols. Performs all duties in a timely manner with minimum waste of supplies, materials, and time. Acts as resource to all patients, physicians, and staff in a polite manner - referring to another resource when necessary. Prepares and/or administers contrast material. Takes call (within 20 minutes from SVH or onsite) as required by departmental needs. Schedule Imaging exams as needed. Complete charges and other clerical duties as required by shift. Learn PACS and assist providers as needed Maintains equipment in good working operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturing recommendation. Prepares and orients patients to the procedures and provides patient education. Communicates necessary information to the radiologist for exam interpretation Provides assistance in continuous quality improvement.

Summary:
The Radiographer performs radiologic examinations in accordance with all state/federal safety regulations.
The Radiographer is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply prescribed amount of radiation for the purpose of obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by the radiologist.
