    Description

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:


    Supervises and coordinates activities of maintenance mechanical personnel in the repair, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance equipment within the plant by performing the following duties.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assigns duties per weekly work schedule to extent possible while still supporting critical plant equipment.
    • Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
    • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
    • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances; initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals including the recommendation of training where there are opportunities to improve skills.
    • Implements work procedures to meet production schedules and to keep mechanical systems operating.
    • Orders materials necessary to complete work orders efficiently and at lowest cost
    • Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
    • Participate in JTE team activities as assigned to represent Maintenance Department
    • Coach employees in Lean Manufacturing rules and principles through leading by example
    • Initiates the creation of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to install consistency with direct reports
    • Other duties as assigned.

    PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma.
    • 2 years maintenance supervisory or lead-man experience in industrial environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    POST-HIRE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

    • Environmental training applicable to the job
    • Safety training for applicable equipment
    • Job instructional training
    • Quality system familiarization
    • EMS ISO 14001 awareness. Plant EMS objectives and targets
    • Significant environmental air aspects and impacts
    • Active participation and support of plant JTE initiative and activities.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.

    The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this fob include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat.

    The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. The employee must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
