Charter Oak Health Center has an opportunity for an APRN Student seeking to gain experience in the following areas:

Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluate and provide comprehensive treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric disorders under the supervision of a preceptor.
Monitor effectiveness of prescribed treatment modalities under the supervision of a preceptor
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and be available for supervision.
Provide appropriate consultation to other specialty practitioners as needed.
Maintain up-to-date clinical records in the EHR.
Submit requested agency and state data and reports following prescribed standards and timelines as requested.
Adhere to rules and regulations as required by regulatory agencies.
Stay up-to-date of new developments in the treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders.
Leverage telehealth technologies as appropriate.
Observation of psychiatric evaluations and follow up visits; perform visits with patients/families as indicated under the supervision of a preceptor.
Perform other duties as directed by supervision and attendance at Department Meetings.

Requirements:

Experience & Skills

Must be currently enrolled in an APRN masters, post-masters or doctoral degree with focus in psychiatric mental health experience (PMHNP)
Hold and maintain an unrestricted RN license to practice in CT
CPR with BLS certification

Education Requirements

Matriculation in an accredited APRN program and in good standing

Availability Requirements

To Be Determined based on patient schedule

Preference will be given to students attending the University of Connecticut and Central Connecticut State University with whom Charter Oak has active Affiliation Agreements.
