    Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, ensuring product functionality and cost efficiency. You will lead a team of manufacturing engineers and project engineers, fostering collaboration between engineering and other manufacturing departments. Additionally, you will be instrumental in the development of equipment to enhance the manufacturing process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide guidance and support as the lead for SMT and PCB assembly for Manufacturing Engineering on new and current production military and commercial projects.
    • Assist in developing Lean plant layout for better space and personnel utilization.
    • Collaborate with customer engineering teams, research and development, quality assurance, and maintenance personnel to prevent product, process, and tooling/fixtures issues.
    • Ensure compliance with all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures at all times.
    • Develop and retain a professional ME team capable of supporting business processes and objectives.
    • Stay updated on new manufacturing technologies and equipment to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Support current and new product introductions.
    • Ensure vendors/subcontractors manufacture products according to specifications and implement necessary testing procedures.
    • Identify and eliminate root causes in the manufacturing process to improve quality and efficiency.
    • Assist in reducing costs through product/material re-engineering.
    • Assess and evaluate vendors/subcontractors for consideration.
    • Train vendors/subcontractors on new product launches to meet target dates.
    • Review and monitor quality and process improvements, as well as new product development, in coordination with manufacturing, operations, and quality managers.
    • Oversee key projects, processes, performance reports, data, and analysis, planning documentation systems.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience for the Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or extensive Contract Manufacturing Engineering Experience.
    • 7-10 years of progressive experience in SMT or Electronics manufacturing engineering.
    • Management experience.
    • Knowledge or certification in Lean Manufacturing & 6 Sigma.
