    Position: Behavioral Health Technician | Footprints to Recovery NJ | Full-Time

    The Behavioral Health Technician supports clinical and non-clinical staff as well as building administration in the provision of technical and auxiliary clinical services to ensure comprehensive and effective daily programming and functionality. The Behavioral Health Technician spends more direct time with the clients than any other position, and as such, are the lead role models in helping the clients to rebuild new lives. Requires maintaining a positive, productive attitude, even when clients may be argumentative or non-compliant.

    Job Duties: Behavioral Health Technician

    • The Behavioral Health Technician collects, monitors, and documents urinalysis samples and breathalyzer screenings
    • Send out daily email communications to clinical staff
    • The Behavioral Health Technician monitors and maintains inventory of all supplies and storage closet, and advises the supervisor when supplies are due to be ordered
    • Provides group facilitation on relapse prevention and life skills, up to four groups per week
    • The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for monitoring clients throughout hours of operation, including a walk-through of the building every 15 minutes as assigned
    • Responsible for ensuring and maintaining the cleanliness of the building
    • The Behavioral Health Technician ensures compliance with Federal Regulations pertaining to client confidentiality
    • Schedules and provides transportation in accordance to transportation policy and procedures, ie. assists with daily transportation of clients to and from Sober Living, and as needed.
    • The Behavioral Health Technician provides back up support for reception needs
    • Monitors and oversees the use of the computers
    • The Behavioral Health Technician provides support to clinical staff and medical staff
    • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule 1-2 days per week for Evening IOP (ie. 12:00PM-8:30PM)
    • Other duties assigned

    Requirements:

    • Valid Driver's License
    • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
    • Ability to document accurately in medical record and within mandated timeframes
    • Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly
    • Must have strong ability to multi-task
    • Must have knowledge of all Microsoft office suites including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
    • Ability to work 8 hour shifts between the hours of 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM
    • Ability to work one evening per week 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM
    • Current CPR certification
    • Experience and knowledge in the field of Substance Use Disorder

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • College degree
    • Experience with EMR's (Electronic Medical Records)

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
