    Duties

    LER TechForce, LLC seeks a Principal Systems Engineer in Columbus, Indiana, and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Telecommuting permitted 100% of time.


    Duties:

    participate in reviews, audits, and assessments to qualify developed work product/evidence of safety compliance; facilitate and document engineering change management, action item tracking, risk analysis activities, and interface analysis; provide technical guidance and leadership on projects related to automotive and transportation industry; draft publications (white papers, studies, training materials) and lead webinars and seminars; coach and train entry-level systems engineers, and mentor team members to solve complex problems; stay abreast of new technologies and competitor products; recommend procedure enhancements; document, process, utilize and share lesson learned; specify, design, implement, test, and release operation control software; investigate embedded software issues, including causal mechanisms, and recommend remedial actions; determine software requirements, design, implementation and tests that impact the quality and performance of individual software features and components; develop product system validation plans to identify failure modes; identify interfaces, functions, functional requirements, interactions, and controls factors to mitigate product failure modes; manage product risk and relative priority; develop alternative architectures traceable to requirements, and perform tradeoff analysis to ensure balanced product platform.

    Requirements


    Master's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field, and 4 years of experience (gained at any time) in any engineering or technical role which included at least one of the skills listed below.

    Included within the 4 years of experience, must have experience in all of the following technical skills:

    version control/requirements management software; boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, state flow diagrams, and functional and interface analysis; requirements analysis; control systems in automotive or medical devices; case modeling; control system architecture; test setup and hardware connections; criteria-based decision matrices.


    In lieu of a master's degree, will accept a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineer, or related field, and 6 years of post-bachelors, progressive experience in skills listed above.
