    Position Description:

    Are you a Contract Administrator with an eye for detail and a passion for reading agreements and achieving favorable contract management outcomes within the realm of Information Technology (IT)? Join Applied Medical and be instrumental in enhancing our contract processes while ensuring the seamless execution of Information Technology (IT) contracts. As part of our team, you'll be responsible for thoroughly reviewing and revising Information Technology (IT) contracts in a timely manner, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. This role offers the opportunity to lead initiatives aimed at optimizing Contract Management practices, ultimately supporting our mission to revolutionize medical device manufacturing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to manage Information Technology (IT) contracts and related agreements throughout entire lifecycle.
    • Review Information Technology (IT) contracts in a timely manner and provide guidance to Information Technology (IT) management, team members and internal customers to achieve favorable contractual outcomes for cost saving, risk reduction, and value maximization.
    • Improve Contract Management practices through workflow enhancements, policies and procedures development, and formation of contract repository and system.

    Performance Objectives:

    • Within your first 30 days
      • Familiarize with essential repositories, tools, and contract management processes.
      • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding general and technology-specific contract sections.
      • Demonstrate desired behavioral and skills characteristics.
    • Within 60 days
      • Achieve familiarity with Applied Medical and Corporate IT desired contract objectives.
    • Within 90 days to one year
      • Manage essential contract coordination functions.
      • Demonstrate increased familiarity with overall procurement lifecycle and contract management.
      • Assess more advanced contract review scenarios and potential verbiage contributions.
    • Ongoing
      • Review IT contracts in a timely manner and provide guidance to Information Technology (IT) management, team members and internal customers.
      • Improve contract management practices.

    Essential Functions:

    • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of Applied Medical.
    • Learn the Information Technology Business Processes.
    • Manage Information Technology (IT) and related agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Terms & Conditions (T&Cs), End User License Agreements (EULAs), and others, throughout their entire lifecycle.
    • Review, revise, and negotiate relevant technology contract sections.
    • Incorporate internal stakeholder requirements to enhance customer positioning and provide guidance concerning commercial terms and contractual risk.
    • Coordinate contract workflow with Legal Department reviewers.
    • Collaborate with Legal on contract amendments and general legal contract provisions.
    • Manage document control and iterations, and oversee the contract execution.
    • Track contract flow, renewals, termination dates and key contract milestones, and provide visibility to the team and stakeholders.
    • Work within Information Technology (IT), Legal, and other stakeholders to establish and maintain a contract management repository/system.
    • Develop and implement contract management policies and procedures.
    • Document and update contract management workflow.
    • Compile contract summaries with vendor concessions and residual risks to decision-makers and contract signatories.
    • Act as a point of escalation for challenges, concerns and ideas.
    • Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
    • Act as a champion for the team in the larger Corporate Information Technology Organization.
    Position Requirements:

    Administrator, Contract Management:

    • Knowledge and understanding of various Information Technology (IT) standard contract documents, including standard contract terms and conditions.
    • Ability to interpret contract provisions and provide high-level summaries of contract terms.
    • Knowledge of Information Technology foundational principles and systems.
    • Excellent reading comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong document drafting, reviewing, and editing skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Advanced proficiency with Word features including document properties, document comparisons, track changes, etc.
    • Proficiency with other office productivity tools including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients at all levels.
    • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
    • Three years of experience in an Information Technology (IT) contract administrator position or related role.

    Senior Administrator, Contract Management:

    • Significant knowledge and understanding of various IT standard contract documents, including standard contract terms and conditions.
    • Ability to interpret contract provisions and provide high-level summaries of contract terms.
    • Knowledge of Information Technology foundational principles and systems.
    • Excellent reading comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong document drafting, reviewing, and editing skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Advanced proficiency with Word features including document properties, document comparisons, track changes, etc.
    • Proficiency with other office productivity tools including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients at all levels.
    • May mentor and/or lead Contract Administrators when needed.
    • Participate and assist in the development of new process improvements and advancements in contract management training programs.
    • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
    • More than five years of experience in an Information Technology (IT) contract manager position or related role.
    • Prior work experience in a technology-based company or Information Technology.
    Preferred:

    Administrator, Contract Management:

    • Proficiency using Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
    • Proficiency with Software Asset Management (SAM) tools, particularly Flexera.
    • Relevant contract management certification, such as the Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) or the Certified Contract Manager (CCCM) from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).
    • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
    • Procurement or Supply Chain Management certification.
    • Prior work experience in a technology-based company or information technology.
    • Prior experience in Information Technology (IT) sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.

    Senior Administrator, Contract Management:

    • Proficiency using Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
    • Proficiency with Software Asset Management (SAM) tools, particularly Flexera.
