    Join us as a Boiler Inspector (Jurisdictional Consultant)

    The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct in-service jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels primarily in the Wilmington, DE area. The Boiler Inspector learns and hones the skills needed to oversee, inspect, assess, and provide guidance to clients. These inspections adhere to various codes and regulations such as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, National Board Inspection Code, jurisdictional laws, and FM Global protocols.

    • Education: The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering, an associate degree from a technical school, or a high school diploma (or equivalent).
    • Desired: Certification by the National Board and state, ability to review repairs based on NBIC and FMIC standards.
    • Requirements: Meeting National Board In-Service commission qualification criteria, passing the National Board Exam, obtaining state certifications, and securing a National Board Commission from at least one jurisdiction within a year of starting the role.
    • Experience: Significant experience prescribed by National Board Rules for Commissioned Inspectors to obtain the initial National Board Inservice Commission (IS). Proficiency in boiler and pressure vessel construction, operation, inspection, mechanical and electrical equipment, management systems, and nondestructive testing methods.
    • Skills/Knowledge: Thorough technical understanding of boiler and pressure vessel construction and inspection, effective communication, time management, problem-solving abilities, basic computer skills, independence, and teamwork.
