Position General Summary:This position is an Essential position at the facility to ensure efficient operations and patient care. Employees hired into an Essential position are expected to report to work for their scheduled shifts regardless of the environmental weather and road conditions that may exist.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
A certified nursing assistant helps patients with direct health care needs, often under the supervision of a nurse. CNAs work directly with patients and the nursing staff, helping with many physical and complex tasks for patient's activities of daily living and monitoring and reporting health changes to other staff.
Some of their responsibilities include:
Certified nursing assistants help perform critical tasks that ensure patients are well-cared for and safe during their hospital stay. Checking vital signs, keeping patients clean, and other duties like this are extremely important for patient care and satisfaction. CNAs are extremely involved in the daily routines of the patients and are often the first to notice small changes that could help identify health issues before they become problematic, making them a critical part of the healthcare team.
Unit Secretary work involves standard administrative responsibilities, such as answering phones, making copies, scheduling appointments and maintaining supplies. Additionally, unit secretaries admit patients, administer and maintain patient records, break down medical charts and communicate with the clinical staff to ensure all appropriate patient information is gathered.
Position Requirements: Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Certifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and a State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification is required. BLS certification required.
Working Conditions:
The ability to think and work independently and with direction, experience communicating with other staff in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment is needed.
