    Your responsibilities


    The Application Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Schenck Process wins highly engineered jobs profitably and bridge the gap between Sales and Production Engineering for projects with significant specifications to prevent margin erosion and discontinuity with the current process.

    Also responsible for review of project specifications to produce a process and equipment supply estimate in key engineered specification markets (Infrastructure & Energy) to include weighing & feeding and pneumatic conveying opportunities.

    Will support sales closing efforts and must be thoroughly able to confirm specification and price details.

    Will be required to support and follow order through the engineering and manufacturing process to maintain continuity engineering details and project specifications.


    Essential Job Functions:
    Review and interpret written specifications provided by Infrastructure & Energy clients. Organize and evaluate the date, disseminate information and directions for proposal preparation.
    Prepare/provide supporting documentation requirements (technical, deviations/exceptions, pricing, etc) and support activities during quotation and selling process.
    Work with internal and external suppliers to specify and propose the necessary equipment to complete system proposals.

    Deliver to Production Engineering a well-documented scope of work along with coordination and communication responsibility on specification topics during the engineering and manufacturing process.

    Attend virtual and in-person customer meetings and conferences with regional sales managers to provide technical sales supportKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of Infrastructure (cement, gypsum, steel, non-ferrous metals, etc.) and/or Energy (electric utilities) industries.
    Knowledge of technical specification and electrical and mechanical drawings interpretation.
    Knowledge of equipment and process data sheets, rotating equipment, controls and instrumentation.

    Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design standards and codes, ie:
    ASME, AWS, ASTM, ANSI, IEEE, NEC and various others.

    Also, includes inspection, quality and testing items, ie:
    hydro, MTR, NDE, and material certification.
    Knowledge and site specific experience with large material handling piping and supports. Experience with structural steel, safety (OSHA), motors (LV/MV/HV), vibration and reliability.
    Skill in AutoCAD and MS Office.
    Skill in outsourcing, quote pricing of various products and services.

    Ability to provide a high level of detail, answer questions/clarifications from customers, and organize, prioritize, and hand multiple work assignments.

    Your qualifications


    Education and Experience:
    B.S., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
    Zero to seven (0-7) years durable capital equipment experience with specifying/quoting/designing/selling in a process industry.
    Prefer experience in or as a supplier to the Infrastructure & Energy industries.
