ROLE SUMMARY
Tradewinds Fitness is seeking a full-time Head Fitness Coach to lead our coaching team, elevate client experience, and carry forward our mission: Strong in the gym. Confident outside it.
This is a training leadership role — not an operations or sales role.
The Head Coach is responsible for:
- Leading the coaching staff
- Delivering exceptional group classes and personal training sessions
- Creating and executing comprehensive group programming blocks
- Maintaining consistency in the client experience
- Supporting, training and mentoring new and part-time coaches
- Elevating the quality and culture of our training floor
- Managing the coaching schedule

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming & Class Experience
Write weekly programming for our large group class program aligned with Tradewinds methodology (LIFT, MOVE, HYBRID cycles)
- Write weekly group class lesson plans for coaches
- Upload programming
- Maintain progression, cohesion, and safety standards
- Ensure classes are scalable and accessible for all fitness levels
- Create individualized programming for personal training clients and small group programs
Manage class schedule and coaching schedule
Coaching (15+ group classes per week and varying amounts of personal training sessions)
Coach high-energy, high-connection group classes
- Provide world-class movement instruction and form correction
- Build relationships with clients
- Maintain consistency in Tradewinds coaching style
Support 1-on-1 clients as desired and approved, manage and track their goals and evaluate periodically
Coach Development & Leadership
Mentor coaching team
- Run quarterly continuing education sessions
- Shadow new coaches and provide feedback
- Maintain high standards in cueing, presence, and client engagement
Ensure consistent implementation of Tradewinds values and systems
Training Floor Operations
Maintain equipment and setup standards
- Ensure safety procedures are followed
- Help create a positive, welcoming training environment
Support attendance tracking and class flow systems
Collaboration with Leadership
Attend weekly leadership meetings
- Provide insight into programming cycles
- Support GM on staffing and training needs
- Communicate coaching team performance and needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of group coaching experience (functional fitness/strength-based preferred)
- Approved fitness certification
- CPR/AED certified
- Deep understanding of strength training and conditioning principles
- Friendly, energetic, positive coaching personality
- Ability to teach and mentor other coaches
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable coaching beginner through advanced clients
- Passionate about creating and being apart of an inclusive, fun and supportive community
- Programming experience preferred but not required (will train the right coach)

The Head Coach is evaluated on:
Coaching Quality
Class ratings (internal surveys + member feedback)
- Member retention in coached classes
Reduction in movement errors across the team
Programming Delivery
On-time weekly programming
- Methodology adherence
Balance and progression across cycles
Team Development
Improvement of coaching staff
- Consistency across the coaching staff
Execution of quarterly CE sessions
Member & Community Engagement
High-touch coaching
- Client Win celebrations
- Personal connections and relationship-building
- Participation in community events and programs
COMPENSATION PLAN
Base Salary:
$50,000 – $60,000 annually (based on experience, programming capability, and coaching hours)
Coaching Bonus:
- Additional hourly pay for 1-on-1 clients
- Professional development stipend
- Optional: performance based bonuses

Total Expected Compensation:
$65,000 – $85,000+ annually depending on:
