    Position: Chief Academic Officer


    About the Job:
    The Family Place Public Charter School is looking for a dynamic Chief Academic Officer to lead the academic excellence journey. As the newest adult public charter school in Washington, D.C., TFPPCS needs a visionary leader to shape its future and bring its vision to life.


    Job Details:
    • Full-time position with competitive salary
    • Responsible for overseeing curriculum, instruction, and academic staff
    • Lead and develop a team of dedicated educators
    • Ensure high academic standards and program goals are met
    • Enhance educational opportunities for adult learners
    • Create a supportive and motivating school environment
    • Implement innovative strategies for educational success
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and promote a mission-driven culture

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide instructional leadership and coaching
    • Manage programs including Adult ESL, Literacy Foundation, Family Literacy & Wellness
    • Supervise educators and ensure compliance with school policies
    • Oversee data management, assessment, and reporting
    • Recruit, train, and develop staff
    • Coordinate with partners and volunteer organizations

    Qualifications:
    • Master's degree or higher in TESOL, Adult Education, or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory roles in Adult Education or ESL
    • Bilingual in English-Spanish with strong communication skills
    • Experience working with non-profit boards and educational nonprofits
    • Familiarity with NRS-approved ESL testing and urban education settings
    • Proven leadership, mentoring, and budget management skills
