The Wilner Group has partnered with our client a global network of accounting firms, searching for an Audit Manager specializing in HUD to join their team. This individual will be a part of the Audit Team, where enthusiasm and teamwork come first. In this role you will lead engagements supported by Partners who will educate, train, and promote a great working environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position at their Bethesda, MD location with a compensation of $120k-$140k based on experience. Our client offers a great benefits package including Health and well-being plans, financial well-being plans, medical plans, Dental and vision plans,401(k), and much more

Responsibilities:

Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements, in particular public housing and HUD entities, with the ability to manage budgets.
Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts.
Consult, work with, and service client base to make recommendations on business and process improvement.
Identify and communicate to management suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
Interact with potential clients and work with Partners to create proposals to generate new business.
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting.
Active CPA license required.
5+ years of public accounting experience, specifically with public housing and HUD entities.
Significant experience in the industry or technical expertise in financial reporting and GAA.
Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS.
