We are currently recruiting for a Health Improvement Project Officer, This post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of Tier 2 Supporting Healthy Weight Projects which focus on the delivery of outcomes and measures highlighted in the Governments Obesity strategy 2020, and local ambitions.

This will involve developing partnerships, delivering training, raising awareness of services and to act as an advocate of supporting a healthy weight and a healthy lifestyle to all relevant clinical, community and voluntary staff.

The role will manage the development and delivery of specific healthy weight initiatives/projects to meet the needs of a specific client group and/or enhance service provision.

The Post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Council, Health Professionals, leisure providers, education establishments, voluntary sector and the public to identify priorities and develop action plans for joint health improvement programmes, which reflect the needs of the local population & address issues of inequality and will act as an expert healthy weight resource for health care professionals.

The role will encompass co-ordination implementation, evaluation and administration of both Public Health weight management programmes and community services, and line management of facilitators, health & wellbeing coaches and healthy weight advisors.

The successful applicant would be responsible for the recruitment, mentoring and quality assurance of staff, the co-ordination and facilitation of Training, collection, collation and monitoring of data, and in conjunction with the Public Health Project Manager, to monitor projects effectiveness and vital signs targets and ensure that data collection systems are robust and accurate.
