- Assist individuals or groups of teachers, grades K-12, with the integration of technology into instruction.
- Disseminate information regarding technology resources, emerging technologies, best practices using technology, and professional development opportunities.
- Design and implement high quality technology-related professional development for school staff. Assist professional staff members in meeting the requirements of the Technology Standards set forth by the Virginia Department of Education.
- Assist the division's technology staff to monitor needs and efficiently communicate technology-related issues.
- Assist the division's instructional staff with the technology aspects of district-wide needs.
- Model effective instructional strategies using technology for teachers in the classroom and during faculty meetings.
- Support and assist the Assistant Superintendent and Elementary/Secondary Directors as appropriate. Provide Principals and Instructional Staff with technology-related assistance to facilitate reaching school goals/improvement plans, as requested.
- Research newer technologies; assess and make purchase recommendations of hardware, software, or technology services.
- Create technology-related resources for teachers, administrators, or support staff. Assist with troubleshooting of technical problems within the schools, providing networking, software, and hardware repairs and referring problems using the MCPS technology work order system when necessary.
- Encourage effective usage of the county's one-to-one chromebook/laptop initiative.
- Assist administrators and teachers with technology for curriculum and content development.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth and keep skills up-to-date.
- Assist in the implementation of the Mecklenburg County Public Schools Technology Plan.
- Facilitate implementation of GAFE in the division for student and staff use.
- Facilitate administration of online learning platforms: iReady, Interactive Achievement, Pearson, ThinkCentral, Pearson, Houghton Mifflin, etc.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers to determine the correct technologies and strategies to support professional learning and improve student achievement.
- Educate teachers on the strategies and skills required to teach 21st Century learners.
- Communicate vision for 21st Century skills in the schools.
- Act as an agent of change.
- Ability to describe problems and work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and as a member of a self-directed team.

- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot job-related issues.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- Hold a Professional License with appropriate endorsement area.
- Have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience.
- Is fluent in core software and technologies used by Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY RESOURCE TEACHER
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Technology, to provide and meet instructional technology needs of the school division by infusing technology into the curriculum to improve communications, task efficiency, and data-driven decision making as they relate to teacher and student performance.
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school division and schools.
