- Master's degree in the area of administration and/or a related area preferred.
- Professional certification in Texas
- Three years of successful teaching experience

- Work closely with the Executive Director for College & Career Readiness as well as other content directors to align instructional practices and resources within the district.
- Coordinate and oversee the district's career and technical education program.
- Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis, and the findings are used to make the career and technical education program more effective.
- Assist in the provision of instructional leadership necessary to ensure effective application of established curriculum in career and technical education.
- Supervise and assist in evaluation of CTE instructional and support staff.
- Facilitate planning and application of technologies in career and technical education program.
- Work with business and industry to determine the need for and extent of training for existing and future employment opportunities for students.
- Assist in planning for new and additional career and technology programs and facilities.
- Assist in achieving effective instruction and continuing development and improvement of career and technical education programs, services, and activities.
- Assist and advise in the development and implementation of systematic programs of inservice training and personnel development for all career and technology education teaching personnel.
- Assist the principals in interviewing and selecting career and technology education personnel for all career and technology education programs.
- Assist in preparing bid specifications for equipment and supplies for career and technology education programs and preparing the paperwork necessary to make appropriate purchases.
- Approve requisitions and supervise the preparation of purchase orders for the expenditure of career and technology education funds.
- Assist in administering the Carl Perkins grant and the career and technology budget to ensure that programs are cost effective and that funds are managed prudently.
- Consult with principals in their scheduling of career and technology education teacher class assignments.
