As a global leader in aviation services Swissport provides Ground Handling Cargo Handling and Passenger Services to over 300 million passengers annually Our mission is simple – To provide the aviation industry with consistent and tailor-made solutions around the globe for a better customer experience We believe that our people are what differentiates us from our competition At Swissport we are driven by our core values of Show You Care Do the Right Things and Win as a Team and we are currently seeking dedicated individuals who align with these values to join our team at various locations across the globe Job Summary Fleet Mechanic is responsible for service and maintenance keeping in good order all Ground Service Equipment at a designated station keeping Swissport Ramp and other service agencies safe with reliable equipment that meets all local governing laws The expected pay rate is $37.50/hr Full-time employees are offered a range of health wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time sick time and company paid holidays Your activities Operate drive all types of GSE equipment motorized non-motorized Perform show competence in preventive maintenance per established schedules on all ground support equipment Provide trouble-shooting diagnostic assessment of ground support equipment as required Hydraulic knowledge basics necessary Must be willing to learn hydraulic systems Airport deicing training will be required Reporting to work during snow Ice cold weather needed Overtime necessary during weather emergencies Will be working outside in all weather conditions year-round Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service ensure GSE not returned to service until malfunction accurately diagnosed repaired Respond emergency calls accidents involving ground support equipment Complete maintenance/repair documentation consistent carrier station airport authority municipal state federal SP requirements Comply federal provincial municipal airport authority carrier security requirements Will retain motor vehicle driver's license air side non-airside good standing times Follow safety guidelines WCB EPA WHIMIS SP management Keep GSE shop its always clean report deficiencies management Fuel fueling full regard safety environmental requirements Liaison Ramp management customers staff professional manner Work self-starter daily profile Valid driver's license Good English verbal written Trade school training mechanical background preferred Good oral verbal communication skills Good computer skills Willing maintain workshop travel when needed for training assist stations
