    Overview :
    Wildish Building Co. is a division of the Wildish Group of Companies headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. Wildish Building Co. performs commercial buildings, k-12, higher education, sports facilities, heavy civil, and water-wastewater treatment facilities. Wildish Building Co is seeking a Lead Cost Estimator.


    Primary Functions:


    The Lead Cost Estimator is responsible for the planning and management of estimating activities for specific construction projects including general buildings/heavy civil/utility structures.

    This position will take the lead role in preparation, interpretation and presentation of estimates.


    Position Responsibilities and Duties:
    Able to perform all Estimator responsibilities
    Review project plans, requirements and specifications
    Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
    Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
    Determine labor and construction equipment costs
    Prepare conceptual estimates
    Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
    Submit requisitions for purchase of materials
    Compare competitive trade bids
    Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager
    Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)
    Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors
    Participate in bid compilation on bid day
    Assist jobsite staff with estimates after bid award
    Perform post-bid buyouts (if applicable)
    Maintain good relationship with owners, suppliers and subcontractors
    Supervise and train estimating staff (if applicable)
    Complete other responsibilities as assigned


    Minimum Skills/Experience Requirements:
    A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
    Minimum 5 years Estimating experience
    Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
    Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations
    Working knowledge of construction costs and principles
    Estimating experience (quantity takeoffs, purchasing accounting; engineering design knowledge and project management experience desirable)
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a prerequisite.
    Experience utilizing HeavyBid and Building Connected is preferred but not required.


    Physical Requirements/Mental Requirements:
    Work mostly in office setting.
    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

    During travel to potential job sites, this position will require the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

    Must be able to pass a urine drug test and background check.

    Compensation Range


    Annual Salary Range:
    $70-$100K
