    Description
    A non-profit healthcare organization is currently seeking a Sr. SAS Programmer.

    The Senior SAS Programmer will be part of a team that improves the quality of care delivered in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, ESRD centers, and managed care plans.

    Your work will include collecting and reviewing data, developing analytic approaches and SAS codes, producing reports and datasets for dashboards, conducting statistical analyses, and summarizing information for clients.

    You will also be involved in internal and client projects that leverage advanced analytic approaches, including regression analysis, ROI (Return on Investment) measurement, predictive modeling, machine learning, and more.


    Responsibilities:
    Collects and translates client's business requirements into actionable instructions. Exploring data and analytic alternatives and provides recommendations on the cost-effective and efficient approach to meeting these requirements.

    Develops, implements, and maintains SAS programs that perform data ETL and analysis, produce reports and manages project datasets and databases.

    Creates work documentation such as code detail, report specifications and metadata.
    Ensures accuracy, data integrity, and face validity of all work. Initial timely, corrective action through continuous QA process.
    Compliance with all applicable contract requirements and company procedures. Maintain quality and security of the information.
    Complete deliverables within established schedules. Responds to inquiries from clients and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    Supports continuous quality improvement. Contributes regularly to improving data and analytics sophistication and efficiency within the department and across the enterprise.


    Qualifications:
    A minimum of 2 years of SAS programming experience related to data manipulation and reporting.
    Knowledge of SAS Macros and PROC SQL required.

    Proficiency in writing new SAS codes to extract data, transform structure, create data elements and insights using functions or statistical procedures, and produce tabulate reports, graphics, and quality data products.

    Experience with standard analytic techniques (e.g., trending, benchmark comparisons, data mining, dashboard creation, statistical analysis).
    Experience working with large datasets; experience with healthcare data.
    Ability to communicate complex concepts orally and in writing to technical, leadership, and lay audiences.
    Excellent troubleshooting, listening and problem-solving skills.


    Desired Skills:
    Advanced SAS Certification preferred.
    Programming or scripting skills in SQL, Python or R,
    Experience with BI visualization tools and reporting packages

    (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ideal)


    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
    Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, public administration, public policy, public health, or equivalent.
