Team Lucky Pup gets to work with some of the most awesome, hilarious, and fantastic pets in the Sioux Empire, right in the pet's own home. From snuggling cats and taking dogs on walks, our Team cares our pet clients every day of the week and every week of the year. Our first priority is the health and safety of all the pets in our care, and we also make sure to spread joy and love to the cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs, beaded dragons, and the occasional chickens, horses, and goats we visit. Team members work in shifts to ensure our clients receive amazing care in the comfort of their own home.

We take our work very seriously, but we don't take ourselves too serious. We are a culture-forward company that supports our team members while also doing great work. Our team gets to feel a connection with our amazing clients – the humans AND the pets. Our clients appreciate what we do, and they tell us so We believe in working as a connected Team, even as everyone works independently on their own care visits. We do our best to make sure everyone on our Team has time for their favorite activities while also being there for our clients. Duties include:

• Traveling to a clients home
• Taking dogs for walks as required (must be able to walk strong dogs that pull)
• Feeding, caring for, cleaning up after, and administering medications for pets of all kinds, ages, and breeds
• Using basic training principles for dogs that need some practice walking nicely or making new friends

We're looking for someone who:

• Has professional or extensive experience with pets, but especially has non-casual or non-personal experience with dogs, dog body language, and dog behavior. We care for pets of all kinds, types, shapes, and sizes.
• Ideally has experience working around a variety of pets and can interact with a variety of personality types. We will train the right candidate on our Lucky Pup "Secret Sauce," but solid dog experience will put you ahead of others.
• Has impeccable attention to and has the ability to recall details. Our work often involves very specific care instructions that vary from family to family. This is to check your dedication to detail. Put the word impeccable within your application so we know you didn't miss this part.
• Have a clean driving record, valid drivers license, and solo access to a reliable vehicle, as well as a phone with internet access. We spend up to half of our time driving between visits all around the Sioux Falls metro and we need to stay safe while we are in neighborhoods, byways, and highways. This is especially true if you are driving one of our Lucky Pup Mobiles
• Likes providing great customer service. A huge part of what we do is making our clients feel connected to what is going on at home. We work diligently to maintain our status and reputation as trusted professional partners. An important aspect to this includes clear and professional communication with good grammar, clear writing, and the ability to report on the fun you're having.
• Can pass a multi-state, in-depth background check. Please see above
• Has clear, concise, and effective communication. Team members need to be able to communicate effectively with other team members, in addition to with our clients. We can't be a great team and company if we can't communicate effectively.

Why you might not want to be part of Team Lucky Pup:

• You don't like changes. Our schedules often change based on changes in our clients' schedules. Our Team members need to have a fairly predictable schedule. So while we have flexibility in our work and scheduling to help you life a full and happy life, we also make commitments to our clients sometimes months in advance and we need to be able to follow through on those commitments. Because of that, short notice or frequent changes to a team member's availability is not something we can accommodate.
• You are looking for more than supplemental income. Based on the fluctuating nature of our work, and based on a your availability, we cannot guarantee a minimum amount of work each week.
• You are not available to work around the holidays or in the summer. We are our busiest during the major holidays and from May-July. While we do rotate shifts around the holidays to ensure team members can enjoy time off, we require team members to be available be flexible to work during and around the holidays.
• You do not enjoy working independently. We are looking for people who enjoy working as part of a greater team with support just a phone call away, but can thrive working fully independently day-to-day. We call ourselves Team Lucky Pup, because we do work as a team to provide exceptional, impeccable care for our VIP clients. However, all of our work is done solo. Trust and dependability is hugely critical in our work.
• You don't like being outside in a variety of weather. Even when it is -10* and blowing snow or 90* with the sun shining, we are out working and visiting pets. They are counting on us to be there for them
• You will occasionally have to clean up something disgusting. We deal with poop every day, vomit occasionally, and the odd major mess. Pet ownership is messy and we do what needs to be done to keep them happy and healthy while they are in our care.
