    Requirements:

    • Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Minnesota
    • Compliance with local and state regulations for occupational therapy practice
    • Experience working with special education students and their families (highly preferred)
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

    Job Description: Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team for the upcoming 24/25 school year. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the needs of students in Albert Lea, Minnesota, through the provision of comprehensive occupational therapy services within a school-based setting.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living.
    2. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each students unique needs and goals, in collaboration with the students IEP team and family members.
    3. Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address identified areas of concern, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities and strategies.
    4. Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, both within designated therapy spaces and within the classroom environment.
    5. Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and other relevant professionals to integrate therapy goals and strategies into the students educational program.
    6. Recommend and assist in the procurement of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to enhance students participation and engagement in school activities.
    7. Monitor and document students progress regularly, maintaining accurate records of assessment results, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with legal and professional standards.
    8. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing education, support, and guidance on how to reinforce therapy goals and techniques at home.
    9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP conferences, and other collaborative activities to ensure coordinated and holistic support for each student.
