- Board Certified for Podiatry
- Current PA license
- Interest in urban/inner-city medicine
- Provides primary health care and/or other specialty-related services, as determined to patients in the medical office, nursing homes, and patient homes.
- Build relationships with patients which encourages healthy lifestyles, health maintenance, and prevention.
- Provide for counseling and appropriate referral where necessary.
- Advocates for patients who need resources that would otherwise not be available to them because of limited income or other resources.
- Supervises students in the office as assigned.
- Work in a style of cooperation with coverage of patients in an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain medical records which support a team approach to care.
- Submit billing information to billing staff promptly (48-hour closure of medical records)
- Submit necessary correspondence promptly.
- Complete necessary forms for patients, such as insurance applications, disability determinations, and public assistance forms.
- Record medical information following standard medical practices and in compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.
- Occasional weekends and evening work may be required. Home care and nursing home visits may also be required as fulfill the assigned work schedule.
- Exceptional clinical skills; interpersonal skills; basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate, professionally and effectively, both oral and written.
- Ability to work in a team under the medical director.
- Flexibility in schedule and support physicians as his/her location responsibilities may change throughout the day.
- Must have a passion for working with the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved.
- Interdisciplinary treatment team approach; community-oriented primary care.
