    Communications Lead (VP/AVP) for GLAC

    About the Team

    Enterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders, including our colleagues. Corporate Communications is a nimble team in ESPA that covers a broad scope of responsibilities, including executive communications, public engagements, corporate reputation programs as well as communications supporting our lines of business. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce of more than 200,000 colleagues. Within Citi, the team works with many internal partners, including senior leadership, and regularly coordinates closely with other members of the ESPA across the world.

    About the Role

    The Communications Lead for Global Legal Affairs & Compliance (GLAC) is a Vice President/Assistant Vice President and key member within the Enterprise Services and Public Affairs organization. This role will work with senior leadership and partners throughout the Citis Legal, Independent Compliance Risk Management, Security & Investigative Services, and Regulatory Strategy & Policy, to build and drive compelling, dynamic, informative content through a variety of leadership communication channels, including written and video messages, talking points, webpages, newsletters, and town hall preparations.

    Reporting to the Director of ESPA and GLAC Communications and working closely with the SVP in the team, this role will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, strategic communications that proactively engage colleagues on key priorities and objectives, both within GLAC and key global firm stakeholders. The VP/AVP will develop and execute messaging that aligns with broader company objectives and resonates with employees. In addition, the VP/AVP will work with a team of professionals and coordinate closely with Communications colleagues across Citis lines of business and functions.

    Responsibilities:

    Support internal and external communications strategy implementation and tactical execution to enhance and drive awareness of GLACs priorities.

    Draft clear, differentiated, and impactful messaging that engages key stakeholders and media influencers.

    Proactively and reactively work with the media.

    Support functional leaders and partners in driving consistent messaging that is clear, conversational, and engaging, coupled with the right tone and information.

    Ensure that communications align to and reinforce the firms business objectives, strategic priorities, culture, and mission and value proposition.

    Develop creative communications tactics to break through and resonate with internal colleagues and external audiences.

    Provide ongoing insights into data and analytics of messaging and activities, and suggest improvements where needed.

    Coordinate communications activities with GLAC and ESPA colleagues to keep everything organized and scheduled appropriately.

    Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

    Qualifications:

    Strong communications (written, editing, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior executives.

    Knowledge of communications, journalism, or marketing and six years of increased responsibility for business management, preferably with a large and complex organization.

    Background in finance or legal/compliance is a plus, but not mandatory.

    Excellent organizational and project management skills.

    Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

    Ability to identify synergies between business initiatives and the corporate strategy to drive message clarity and understanding.

    Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment within a heavily matrixed organization.

    Adept at building and managing relationships with senior executives and internal stakeholders, navigating competing interests and providing opposing viewpoints productively.

    Track record of success in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    Light graphic design and web content management skills.

    Bachelors degree in communications, English, journalism, or another related field.

    Integrity, maturity, dependability, detail orientation, and a positive professional attitude.
