- Provides professional speech-language pathology services to all age groups, to ensure quality of patient care and to restore function.
- Assists with measuring quality and outcomes.
- Consults with physicians, nursing staff, and other rehabilitative team members to determine plan of action for the patient including therapeutic modifications and discharge planning.

:JOB PURPOSE:
Provides speech-language pathology services by coordinating consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains patient record including evaluations, plan of care, treatment goals, and progress notes, documenting patient responses to treatment and patent education.
Uses objective data with clear and concise language in the patient record.b. Provides direct patient care, utilizing modalities and techniques appropriate for patients from neonates to geriatrics. Demonstrates skills and accuracy in performing patient care, conducting tests and measurements as appropriate.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Speech/Language Pathology. BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
