Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with
generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies as outlined in the department operations manual.
Reads and interprets physicians' orders received in the pharmacy and transcribes same into the pharmacy computer medication profile.
Fills individual patient drug bins working from a medication fill list; records doses for credit or charge; acknowledges filling of the cassette by initialing work done.
Checks and removes outdated meds on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock. Keeps appropriate records.
Maintains competency in caring for patients of all age groups and developmental stages and maintains competency as specifically indicated by orientation guidelines.

Current Pharmacy Certification REQUIRED
Must be computer literate and be able to operate Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Must possess good knowledge of office practices
Customer service oriented, organized, and diligent
Knowledge of medical terminology
Must have excellent grammar usage
Demonstrates problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively and consistently with limited direct supervision
Ability to communicate well with staff, physicians, and the general public
Exhibits commitment to effective problem-solving techniques when issues arise.
Good organizational and strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of persons
Understanding, courteous, and professional at all times in contact with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff
Dependable/ must have a flexible work schedule
Neat and friendly appearance
