    Primary Responsibilities:
    Responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately preparing and responsibility serving

    beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. Follows standard recipes, mixes

    ingredients and prepares cocktails and other drinks. Offers and serves food items to guests, collects

    payment for drinks served and maintains bar area clean, sanitary and organized.


    Specific Job Duties:
    Promptly greets guests, takes beverage orders from the restaurant servers or directly from

    guests.

    Promptly prepares beverage orders for servers according to server tickets.

    Mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails and other beverages as requested and in

    compliance with company standards and recipes.

    Checks identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol. Promptly

    notifies management of underage drinking guests who are obviously intoxicated.

    Rings up all drink and food orders in the POS system, collects payment for drinks and/or food

    served, balances all receipts and follows proper cash handling procedures.

    Ensures bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and

    serving guests. Promptly reports any defective product or equipment.

    Offers and serves food items to guests seated at the bar when appropriate or as requested.

    Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.

    Responsible for routine cleaning, set up and breakdown of bar. This includes all preparation

    required to run bar efficiently and smoothly.

    Washes and sterilizes glassware and keeps bottles, glassware and beverage products arranged

    to make an attractive display

    Completes daily/weekly cleaning and side work requirements.

    Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.


    Experience and Education:
    Minimum 1 year experience in bartending preferred.

    Previous experience with Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi and sake preferred.

    Basic understanding of wine, spirits and sake required.

    Must be certified in Responsible Alcohol Service by applicable agency.

    Must be 21 years of age or older.

    Must have a High School diploma or GED. College course work and/or degree highly desirable.

    Must be eligible to work in the United States.


    Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

    Customer Service:
    Must possess excellent customer service skills. Ability to maintain a high degree of

    professionalism when interacting with guests and dealing with guest complaints. Ability to monitor and anticipate guests' needs and respond accordingly in an effort to maintain a positive and enjoyable dining

    experience. Outgoing personality and friendly disposition highly desirable.

    Communication:
    Must possess excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Must be able to

    communicate and understand guests' and colleagues' instructions, read and understand written

    directives, and be able to clearly communicate if s/he requires further direction. Must be able to interpret

    nonverbal cues in an effort to identify and correct potential problems. Must be able to effectively

    communicate in English. Must be able to engage in conversation in a friendly, yet professional manner.

    Interpersonal Relationships:
    Ability to adapt and interact with a diverse group of people. Ability to

    maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times. Must be able to

    work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member's role in the guest dining

    experience.

    Physical Demands:
    Must be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time. Must be

    able to work under stress, have excellent organizational skills and multi-task throughout shift. Must have

    a clean, professional appearance with excellent grooming habits. Must be able to work with cleaning

    products, handle glassware and service ware, lift up to 25 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Food and Beverage Knowledge, Preparation, Production and Safety: Must be able to clearly explain

    how food is prepared, cooked, and served to guests. Knowledge of industry standards on food storage

    and handling techniques is highly desirable. Must be able to learn and describe menu items to guests

    when requested. Responsible alcohol service certification required. Must be willing to taste new and

    existing drink recipes in order to provide guests with information about beverage menu items.

    Problem Solving and Conflict Management:
    Must exercise sound judgment and possess good problem

    solving skills. Must have the ability to recognize and resolve problems in an appropriate manner. Must

    have basic math skills.

    Shift Flexibility:
    Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends. Must be

    able to work overtime as required.
