    EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
    Middle School MTSS ELA Interventionist for the 2023/2024 School Year

    SUMMARY OF POSITION: Day-to-day implementation of a data-driven MTSS program.

    REPORTS TO: Lon Medd, Middle School Principal

    COMPENSATION: Per the Carrollton Education Association Master Agreement.
    Will consider years of experience when negotiating salary. Grant Funded Position

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Possession of a valid Teaching Certificate in grades 6-12 English (BA) preferred.
    2. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
    3. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
    4. Ability to work well with staff, parents and students, and administration.
    5. Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills.
    6. Must satisfactorily pass:
      1. Law enforcement background checks with fingerprinting.
      2. Personal and professional reference background checks.
    7. Must receive a satisfactory response to P.A. 189 letter (Misconduct letter).
    8. Must possess or be willing to complete training to become Adult/Infant/CPR/First Aid Certified
    9. Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
    10. At least three years of experience in the education field preferred
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    1. Diagnose reading deficits and direct the implementation of Tier 2 & 3, small group, evidence-based interventions in reading to support other core content areas.
    2. Knowledge and experience in teaching ELA standards and reading strategies to middle school students who have gaps in their learning.
    3. Increase the capacity of school teams to use the MTSS framework in making data-based decisions about instructional core and tiered content to accelerate and maximize student academic outcomes.
    4. Collaborate with classroom teachers, school-based instructional teams, and school leaders.
    5. Work with leadership to develop a process to document and progress monitor intervention plans used to improve student achievement.
    6. Ability and willingness to work with students who are struggling learners while implementing positive behavior support as part of an effective overall classroom management strategy.
    7. Ability to keep all student and parent information confidential.
    8. Ability to keep a positive attitude in working with students, parents, other staff members, and community members who visit Carrollton Public Schools facilities or programs.
    9. Ability and willingness to lead activity programs for children.
    10. Must be able to lift and assist students when necessary.
    11. Must be self-directed and self-motivated.
    12. Must be highly organized and able to multi-task.
    13. High level of proficiency in the Google Suite of products (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc) and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    14. Shall be of good character with high moral and ethical values.
    15. To ensure a safe environment for students at all times.
    16. Other duties as assigned by the building principal/coordinator.
