    Near Cedar Park, TX

    Employment Type:
    Full-time (37.5 hours/week), Part-time negotiable (at least 20 hours/week)
    Academic Year August 8th, May 29th, 2025)


    Description:
    We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Specialist to join our team for the upcoming academic year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within our special education department, providing essential counseling services to students.
    The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in schools,
    possess active certifications/licenses in the state of Texas,
    demonstrate a passion for supporting the mental health needs of students.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide counseling services to students within the special education department.
    • Conduct evaluations to determine if students qualify for counseling services to be added to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
    • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support students' mental health needs effectively.
    • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health support within a school setting.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
    • Active certifications/licenses in mental health counseling or related field in the state of Texas.
    • Previous experience working in schools, preferably in special education settings.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in counseling practices.
