    Description
    Job Summary:

    The Nursing Assistant supports NorthShore healthcare providers in delivering patient care following established clinical guidelines. This role may cover areas such as adult medicine, pediatrics, or women's health, and involves upholding quality care standards and performance measurements in each department. The ideal candidate is expected to be skilled and self-assured in all Northshore Clinical Services competencies.

    Essential Functions:

    • Performs various tasks (e.g., measuring weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, glucometer) and documents findings in the patient's electronic health record (EHR)
    • Conducts patient screenings to gather information on chief complaints, medical history, and allergies, and records them in the patient's chart
    • Prepares examination rooms, sets up equipment, and assists providers during patient examinations and treatments
    • Ensures patient comfort and safety needs are met
    • Accurately completes and processes all laboratory requisitions and ensures timely delivery of specimens to the appropriate lab
    • Performs in-house laboratory tests as requested by providers following CLIA standards, and accurately records test results
    • Manages stock, inventory, and supplies in the clinical setting as required
    • Maintains precise clinical records in the patient's EHR
    • Completes staff competencies by assessing knowledge and techniques, and addressing any areas for improvement
    • Demonstrates high proficiency levels across all training areas in daily tasks and when supporting colleagues
    • Participates in meetings and training programs as needed
    • Carries out other delegated tasks from management
