    Job DescriptionJob Title: Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) Coordinator
    Location: Topeka, KS 66603
    Duration: Approx. 1 Year
    Shift: Hybrid Schedule/Remote
    Job Description:
    The Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) Coordinator substance use disorder (SUD) is responsible for developing best practices for diverting people seeking long-term care with mental illness from nursing facilities. This position will provide both Level I assessors and Level II evaluators with best practice tools to help them identify people, being assessed and/or evaluated, that could be successful in the community with supports instead of recommending long-term care. Specific Duties:
    • Research, develop, and implement best practice guide, in collaboration with the SUD division of the Behavioral Health Services Commission, for Level I assessors and Level II evaluators for people with SUD seeking long-term care.
    • Respond timely to requests for technical assistance from Level I assessors or Level II evaluators regarding individual cases and refer to appropriate staff, other State Departments, and/or community-based services.
    • Develop and implement a tracking strategy for documenting the services provided.
    Skills required:
    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required (especially Excel).
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong ability to synthesize information.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    Experience required:
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and local government structures as well as private sector resources is a plus.
    • Minimum of one year experience working with individuals in crisis, substance use disorder, etc.
    • Previous experience working in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with nursing facility, nursing facility for mental health, or related work.
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and the flexibility to creatively adapt to ever-changing circumstances and events is essential to success in this position.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Familiarity with data tracking.
    Education required:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral health or related field.
    • Physical requirements (lifting, repetitive motion, etc):
    • Normal office environment.
