    Summary

    Plastic & Reconstructive surgery at Mercy is home to one of Baltimore's highly respected teams of breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgeons. The Center of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Downtown Baltimore is looking for a dedicated individual looking to make a difference in women's healthcare.

    The Patient Service Associate plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive patient experience, as they are the first people a patient will come in contact with when scheduling an appointment or upon arrival at the office.

    Responsibilities

    The Patient service associate is responsible for all front desk operations ,which include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Checking patients in and out
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Monitoring and maintaining providers schedules
  • Answering phone calls/ patient's questions and concerns
  • Scanning in medical records and faxes
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of encounter forms and patient's medical records
  • Triage patient phone calls for severity and importance
  • Collecting and verifying insurance information
  • Charge entry and payment posting
  • Complying with HIPAA policies to protect patient's rights
  • Requirements

  • Education/ Experience requirement: High School Diploma or GEDCustomer Service / Medical Office experience
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Microsoft wordEPIC (preferred)Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, and physiciansMust be able to function effectively as a team with other employeesMust be willing to travel to other Mercy locations
