    Description

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to provide psychiatric care on our inpatient unit or at contracted agencies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff nurses, social workers and physicians to deliver high-quality patient care.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide coverage at inpatient sites, including psychiatric evaluation, medication management, restraints and staff consultation as required.
    • Provide additional coverage call for the Department's hospital contract, responding to calls within 15 minutes.
    • Be available and respond to direct service requests to patients within one hour of being called for restraint, sentinel event, near-miss or other clinical situations.
    • Keep abreast of agency, hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Submit accurate billing information.

    We require a motivated APN with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    Qualifications

    • One year of experience as a practicing APN.
    • Unrestricted licensure as an APN with the State of New Jersey, including current CDS and DEA certification.

    This is a non-tenure position, requiring the candidate to be legally authorized to work in the US. The university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
