- Review complex property and casualty insurance rating plans and rate change requests to ensure that rates in Pennsylvania are not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory and that insurance products comply with state and federal laws.
- Perform advanced actuarial and statistical studies and analyses via data calls and special projects.
- Research laws, regulations, and legal decisions to determine their impact on property and casualty insurance products and how insurance products should be reviewed in accordance with them.
- Provide information on actuarial matters and interpretations of department regulations to other agency offices, other governmental agencies, insurance company representatives, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and the public.
- Participate in the preparation of legislation and information that is used at administrative hearings and court proceedings.
- Help train other actuarial team members.

- Work hours are a 7.5-hour day, generally 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Work schedule is flexible.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with one day per month in the office required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

- One year of experience as a Property and Casualty Insurance Actuary 1; or
- Successful completion of five parts of the Casualty Actuarial Society examination program; or
- Four years of property and/or casualty actuarial experience; and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in mathematics or statistics; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
