    We are working with our tribal partner to find an energy director.

    SUMMARY:

    Coordinate activities in order to manage the functions and activities that maximize the goals and objectives of the Tribal Energy Administration.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise and schedule the Tribal Energy Administration staff.
    • General oversight responsibility for all Energy/Tax activities.
    • Coordinate with Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regarding regulatory actions as required.
    • Provide monthly/annual statistical reports as required for review by the Tribal Council.
    • Provide Oil and Gas permit administration oversight.
    • Develop and supervise cooperation agreements with federal agencies.
    • Manage all monitoring of severance tax and production compliance.
    • Monitor all lease compliance with agreements and/or lease terms.
    • Leads in preliminary negotiations for all Mineral Agreements.
    • Present data to the Minerals Committee and conduct votes for actions for Tribal Council recommendation.
    • Prepare written recommendations from the Minerals Committee for presentations to Tribal Council for approval.
    • Staff and coordinate all activities of the Minerals Committee.
    • Prepares monthly activities reports including production and field activity for management and/or Tribal Council.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School or GED
    • Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Petroleum Geologist, Mathematics or related field preferred with (5) five years' experience in Energy Resource management. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
    • Native American preferred, ability to work well with people, and ability to work well with minimum supervision.
    • Valid driver license and be insurable by Tribe.
    • CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Proficiency in and advance knowledge computer software applications, specifically in the areas of data base platforms and spreadsheet usage.
    • Ability to read, understand, and apply relevant technical data such as the Code of Federal Regulations, regulatory documents published by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Bureau of Land Management and other regulatory authorities as applicable.
    • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
    • Knowledge of office administration procedures ability to operate most standard office equipment
    • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
