    GEI's Glastonbury, CT (Hartford) office is seeking a motivated & experienced Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region.

    Project types will include residential and commercial buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development.
    Plan, manage, and execute projects.
    Perform geotechnical analysis and design.
    Prepare geotechnical reports.
    Observe and manage field explorations and construction activities.
    Design and implement geotechnical instrumentation projects.
    Assist in preparing full design packages with calculations, drawings, and specifications.
    Assist in overseeing construction of specialty geotechnical items such as deep foundations, tiebacks, and grouting, among others.
    Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.
    Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and third-party vendors.
    Train and mentor staff.
    Minimum Qualifications
    B.S. in Civil Engineering. Geotechnical course work required.
    6 to 12 or more years of experience.
    Must have passed the F.E. exam.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Willingness to travel on assignments as needed.
    Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
    Ability to perform field work on active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
    Preferred Qualifications
    M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Structural course work is a plus.
    Professional Engineer's license preferred.
