    ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER - MEDICAL TELEMETRY (NIGHTS)

    UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Medical Telemetry Unit.

    ABOUT OUR MEDICAL TELEMETRY UNIT
  • We are a general medical unit with a full cardiac telemetry and rehabilitation program
  • We offer 36 beds for patients
  • We consistently hold 1:4 and 1:5 nurse to patient ratios
  • Our RNs work in close partnership with our physicians and our certified nursing assistants
  • We are proud to offer a breadth of training opportunities for our staff, including stroke training and advanced EKG training

    WORK SCHEDULE
  • 36 hours per week
  • 3x12 shift schedule
  • Night shifts only (7:00pm-7:30am)

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination
  • Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
  • Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations
  • Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments
  • Oversees patient placement and throughput
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs)
  • Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care
  • Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
  • Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and workgroups
  • Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations
  • Provides "just in time" feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
  • Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2 years of acute care hospital nursing experience
  • Active BLS
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
